Sarah Mahatzke

Sarah grew up in Ann Arbor and went on to graduate from Eastern Michigan University with her teaching degree in 2014. She is a certified K-6 teacher with endorsements in Early Childhood General and Special Education as well as reading. Sarah has been teaching for 7 years and has been working with horses for 15+. 

 

Sarah and her family have been working with and learning from the community at Happy Hooves since the fall of 2019. After the pandemic, Sarah saw a need in the community for a children's summer camp that focuses on human and horse wellness. She is currently the summer camp director. Additionally, Sarah works closely with the Canter MI foster horses on the farm.

 

"Horses have taught me how to be a better listener. They have taught me about their invaluable ability to bring calmness, healing and acceptance to those that surround them."
